T1DNewly Diagnosed with Type 1
“I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 2017 and from the beginning I was determined to stay healthy but despite my efforts I struggled to manage my blood sugar. Ariel has done an incredible job in helping me to understand T1D and how diet and exercise affect my blood glucose levels. She’s taught me how to use my insulin pump much more effectively and with her help I have been able to maintain a lower A1C.”

T1DDown to 6.1% and 98% TIR!!
“My A1C results are in….(drum roll)…lol.
6.1% Best Ever and 98% Time in Range! I am so happy and proud of this 🙂 It was 6.7% when we started 5 months ago and now it’s down 0.6. And this was all while eating my favorite foods like pancakes, spaghetti with garlic bread, and cheesy pasta. That is so awesome!

T1DFrom 7.9% Down to Best Ever 6.3%!
I have had T1D for over 40 years. Diagnosed in my early 20s, I never received any formal diabetes education. The best A1c I ever had was 7.9. Now my most recent A1c was 6.3, thanks to Ariel. I never dreamed that would even be possible. I discovered Ariel with Above Diabetes on You Tube. The fact that she has had TID for over 30 years and the way she explains things, made me know that this is exactly the person I needed to help me. She told me she has heard and/or lived every story, and I believe she has. All those years, I felt powerless to control my illness. With Ariel’s help, my relationship with T1D has changed. I love the way she uses metaphors to explain things that finally make sense, such as the reason to do that pre-bolus. She talked about the grass and the wildfire that happens when you eat without pre-bolusing. Now that I can actually visualize what that does, as well as actually see it on my graphs that she explains to me, suddenly it’s worth the effort to do it. Ariel has so much compassion, she makes me feel like we’re in this together.
