Hi, we’re Above Diabetes! Our team of Registered Dietitians and a Nurse Practitioner are dedicated to helping you thrive with diabetes, offering personalized nutrition guidance, the latest tech, and the support you need to take control of your health.
We’re licensed in Utah and Texas:
- Texas: We collaborate with your PCP or endocrinologist for comprehensive care, with in-person visits available in the Dallas area or Anna, TX.
- Utah: Our Nurse Practitioner can manage labs, prescriptions, and devices, including insulin and pumps. We also offer in-person appointments in Morgan and Vernal.
Insurance: We’re in-network with major providers, and many plans cover nutrition services—sometimes fully! Click here for insurance details.

RDN, LD, CDCES
Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 1995, Ariel Warren specializes in intensive insulin management, insulin pump therapy, advanced diabetes care, and nutrition strategies including Intuitive Eating. She is a multi-time published author of diabetes education and diabetes-friendly recipe books and is passionate about empowering people to manage their health while improving quality of life.

Mary Jefferson
RDN, MS, LD, CDCES
Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 30 years ago, Mary K. Jefferson specializes in insulin and medication management, weight management, Intuitive Eating, carbohydrate counting, and advanced insulin pump strategies for individualized diabetes care. She previously practiced at Intermountain Healthcare in Salt Lake City. Mary is dedicated to helping people with diabetes manage their health while improving quality of life.

SaRene Brooks
RDN, LD, CDCES
Having two sons diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, SaRene brings personal insight and experience to her practice. She specializes in tailored diabetes self-management education as well as sustainable weight magagement through lifestyle interventions. She is a published writer and speaker dedicated to empowering individuals and families as they manage their diabetes and health with confidence and balance.
Our Nurse Practitioner Partner
Family Nurse Practitioner & Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist (CDCES)

Licensed in Utah, AnneMarie Rousseau, DNP, FNP-BC, APRN, CDCES, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2000. She is an experienced Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in all types of diabetes, with a particular focus on gestational care for mothers with diabetes. AnneMarie combines her personal experience living with type 1 diabetes with extensive clinical expertise to provide compassionate, individualized care. She was recognized as Diabetes Educator of the Year by ADCES Utah in 2022 and is passionate about empowering patients to manage their diabetes effectively, improve health outcomes, and enhance quality of life through education, technology, and holistic strategies.
