Low Carb and High Protein Turkey Hummus Wrap
Turkey Hummus Wrap (Low Carb and High Protein)
  • 2 low-carb tortillas (available at Costco)
  • 6 ounces turkey slices (nitrate/nitrite-free)
  • 2 tablespoons hummus (roasted red pepper is best!)
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped purple onion
  • 1 tablespoon Kalamata olives (optional, and pits removed)
  • 2 ounces Lettuce Leaves
Instructions
  1. Take two low-carb tortillas and lay them flat on a clean surface.

For a super low carb wrap (and gluten free) option, use the lettuce leaves in place of the tortilla.
  2. Spread 1 tablespoon of roasted red pepper hummus evenly on each tortilla, covering the entire surface.

  3. Lay three slices of nitrate/nitrite-free deli turkey on each tortilla, creating a layer of protein. Opting for nitrate/nitrite-free deli meat is a healthier choice.

  4. Sprinkle finely chopped purple onion and Kalamata olives over the turkey layer. These ingredients add a nice touch of flavor and texture to the wrap.

  5. Place a leafy lettuce leaf on top of each tortilla, ensuring the ingredients are well-contained within the wrap.

  6. Roll up each tortilla tightly, securing the filling inside. You can use toothpicks to hold the wraps together if needed.

  7. Now it's time to enjoy your delicious Turkey Hummus Wraps! The combination of flavorful hummus, savory nitrate/nitrite-free turkey, and briny olives will surely satisfy your taste buds.

Note
  1. Alternative Tortilla Option: If you prefer a gluten-free or even lower carb option, you can switch out the low-carb tortilla for a refreshing lettuce leaf. It adds a satisfying crunch and keeps the wrap light and carb-conscious.

  2. Get Creative with Fillings: Don't be afraid to get creative with the fillings! Along with the turkey, hummus, and Kalamata olives, you can add thinly sliced onions, crisp cucumber slices, or any other ingredients that catch your fancy or need to be used up from your fridge. The possibilities are endless, so feel free to experiment and create your own unique flavor combinations.

  3. Make It Your Own: This recipe is a perfect canvas for customization. Feel free to adjust the quantities of each ingredient to your liking. Add a sprinkle of your favorite herbs, a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, or even a dash of hot sauce if you enjoy a bit of heat. Make it your own by incorporating flavors that excite your taste buds.
